title: Access Management
description: We bring order to who can reach what — roles, routes, and permissions configured so the right traffic reaches the right place, and kept current.
---

Access rules tend toward disorder. They accumulate over time, are added under pressure, and eventually reach a state in which no one is certain which parties or processes can reach which services. That uncertainty is itself a form of risk. This service consists of configuring roles, routes, and pools so that traffic reaches its intended destination with the intended level of access, and of maintaining that configuration as circumstances change, rather than permitting it to drift back into disorder.

The result is a documented and intelligible account of access at the routing layer, together with the ongoing maintenance required to preserve it — the intended traffic reaching its intended destinations, and unintended traffic prevented from doing so.

The service applies both where access rules have already become unmanageable and where an access policy is being established deliberately from the outset.

Its scope is access at the level of traffic routing. It complements the identity and authentication systems already in use; it does not replace them.
